Cara Taylor • Vanity Fair Italia Fashion Issue Nº1 2023

Vanity Fair Italia made a considerable splash last month in the midst of Milan Fashion Week with a slew of covers for its Fashion Issue celebrating many of the modeling greats of the 1990s and beyond. Turns out, that was the second issue, the first in fact pays tribute to a new generation of stars including Cara Taylor. Photographed by Luigi and Iango and styled by Anna Dello Russo, Cara’s cover immediately calls to mind Madonna’s True Blue (1986). That cover photographed by Herb Ritts in Hollywood is genuinely iconic, the sort of portrait often imitated and rarely, if ever, duplicated. This cover and corresponding shoot, however is not all derivative. On the contrary, the Swiss-Italian photography achieve something that is more effortless, an insouciant beauty that only Cara Taylor can embody. This is part of what makes this new generation being fêted worthy of adoration.
