Isa Gustafsson • Wallpaper* September 2023

Never mind that more than three years have passed since a NEXT News article has been published because Isa Gustafsson has herself a September cover for Wallpaper*, her first magazine cover in fact. In those intervening years the Swedish beauty began modeling and months later made her debut as a Prada exclusive during the Spring Summer 2021 ready-to-wear season. That season is memorable, not least because it was conducted in the midst of a global pandemic, but also marked Raf Simons’s first Prada collection with Miuccia Prada. Isa would go on to feature in the corresponding advertising campaign and a lockdown would rumble on for the better part of the next two years.

Fast forward to today, Wallpaper*’s biannual Style Special opens on strong footing with a cover with Isa wearing a jacket, skirt, and shoe by, wait for it, Prada. The corresponding cover story by photographer duo Mélanie Lyon and Ramon Escobosa and fashion editor Jason Hughes titled “Street Scene” makes ample use of strong silhouettes drawn from a variety Autumn / Winter 2023 collections. All told, it’s a fine outing for autumn and timely reminder of Isa’s modeling nous ahead of the coming show season.
